Creating a Forest Garden (6 Saturdays)

Course runs on 6 Saturdays from 7th September to 12th October, 10-3 each day.

As well as learning all about forest gardening, you will be led through the steps needed to create your own forest garden design.

Pick a truly fresh salad from wild plants (aka weeds) growing in Finsbury Park. We’ll discover over 20 edible plants, tasting as we go and learning about their uses. Then enjoy the results of your foraging by eating a communal salad and sipping tea in the beautiful surroundings of Edible Landscapes London.

Most of the weeds that seem to drive gardeners crazy are, in actuality, fantastic plants with a multitude of uses - from food and medicine to important allies in combating pests and diseases in the garden.

In this session, we’ll discuss how to utilise these wonderful resources that pop up in our gardens rather than treating them as a useless nuisance.

Find out about the project over a cuppa, learn about forest gardening, and help out with whatever needs doing. Please don't forget to wear all-weather clothes and sturdy boots. We will have a shared lunch at 1pm, so please bring something to eat and drink.

Due to popular demand, we are now opening our gates on at least one Saturday a month. A chance to gain some informal training in forest gardening and the design process, whist rolling up your sleeves to get stuck into whatever needs doing!

We will be located at DIFFERENT SITES around the park - often planting trees and shrubs, working at Manor House Lodge, or at the nursery site. Please call 07733 330379  /  07804 596645 to find out where to meet.
